You will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-quality backend systems. This is a hands-on senior role where you drive technical architecture, mentor teammates, and collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product, Design/UX, DevOps, R&D teams) to deliver robust solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement robust, scalable, maintainable backend solutions for complex scenarios
- Collaborate effectively within your team and across Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams
- Maintain and improve engineering practices by suggesting and implementing technology, patterns, and process enhancements
- Lead migration of legacy systems to modern, cloud-native architectures while mentoring teammates
- Support system and data migrations with minimal disruption, backward compatibility, and performance optimization
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in team systems, processes, and scalability
- Lead by example in code quality, contribute significantly to code reviews, and serve as a focal point for engineering excellence
- Monitor production systems, investigate issues, and lead resolution of critical production challenges

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years in backend software engineering roles with demonstrated ability to navigate technical trade-offs and ambiguity
- Proficiency in C#, Java, or similar object-oriented languages
- Proven experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Hands-on knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server)
- Experience with message queues or streaming platforms (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka)
- Strong experience writing unit tests and ensuring high test coverage
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Experience designing new functionality for existing complex components while maintaining scalability and performance
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- BA/BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Exposure to legacy system modernization or platform migration projects is highly valued
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), especially in migration or modernization contexts
- Practical experience with Agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with non-relational databases (MongoDB)
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, AI-enabled APIs, or building backend services supporting intelligent features
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting technical growth
