Impulse is seeking a Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and qualify custom circuit boards and avionics devices for spacecraft. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of hardware designs—from initial circuit board development through lab bring-up, debugging, qualification testing, and flight operations. You will develop circuit boards for spacecraft with emphasis on analog, digital, or control electronics. Your responsibilities include performing rigorous analyses and simulations of avionics devices and systems, defining hardware interfaces, verifying requirements, and establishing high technical standards. You will act as the Responsible Engineering authority for your hardware, ensuring designs meet mission requirements and spacecraft performance objectives. This is a collaborative role where you will partner closely with software engineers, firmware developers, propulsion engineers, GNC (guidance, navigation, and control) engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and test engineers. You will communicate technical challenges, explain design rationale, and resolve engineering concerns across cross-functional teams. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field - 5+ years of experience in electronic component selection, analysis, simulation, schematics, and layout - 5+ years of experience in mixed-signal and analog circuit design, including analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, operational amplifiers, filtering, and signal integrity - 3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting electronics problems at the board level - Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain design rationale, and resolve engineering concerns
