Salary: USD 130,900 - 154,000 / annual
Coinbase is seeking a Senior Associate for FCM (Futures Commission Merchant) Operations to support Coinbase Financial Markets, Inc. across US Futures, Prediction Markets, and Options. This role owns exception management and operational readiness for new product launches, ensuring derivatives infrastructure scales reliably while meeting regulatory expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own exception management across cash, positions, trades, and margin, including triage, investigation, resolution, and implementation of durable fixes
- Lead operational readiness for new product launches, covering UAT/test case design, playbooks, cutover plans, and post-launch stabilization
- Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, and Engineering to design processes, controls, and reporting that scale and meet regulatory expectations
- Establish monitoring and exception reporting frameworks (SLAs, KPIs, dashboards) and run incident triage with clear escalation paths
- Drive root cause analysis and post-mortems, translating learnings into product and process improvements
- Identify and implement automation and tooling to reduce operational friction and manual work
Required experience includes 5+ years in financial services or fintech operations with FCM, broker-dealer, or listed derivatives experience, emphasizing trade operations, margin, or exception management. You should demonstrate analytical problem-solving in exception-based operations with strong prioritization and escalation judgment. Product launch and operational readiness experience is essential, including requirements gathering, UAT execution, playbook development, and go-live support. Strong cross-functional business partnering with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance teams in fast-moving environments is critical. Working knowledge of listed derivatives and interest in blockchain/cryptocurrency markets is required. The role emphasizes responsible use of generative AI while maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.
