Salary: USD 80,000 - 82,500 / annual

AvantStay is a venture-backed short-term rental platform delivering tech-enabled group travel experiences for millennials in the $100+ billion STR industry. As Senior Area Manager, you will oversee all day-to-day operational activities across AvantStay property areas in your region, working cross-functionally with maintenance, housekeeping, and operations teams. You will manage multiple markets with teams of 1–10 employees, supervise guest and homeowner issue resolution, coordinate housekeeping and maintenance tasks, conduct property inspections for compliance, and serve as the primary point of contact for property owners. The role requires close market proximity with frequent travel, rotating on-call after-hours support, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays. Key responsibilities include: - Managing and delegating to local market team members - Establishing and maintaining relationships with property owners - Supervising guest/homeowner issue escalations and ensuring timely resolution - Coordinating housekeeping and routine maintenance (linens, furniture, troubleshooting cable/wifi) - Collaborating on maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping operations evaluation - Conducting regular property inspections for AvantStay standards compliance - Supporting daily operations with administrative duties - Participating in rotating on-call support Requirements: - 4+ years of property management experience with multi-site locations and decentralized teams - 3+ years of people management experience - 3+ years working with external stakeholders (vendors, homeowners) - Excellent self-management, prioritization, and deadline-driven execution in fast-paced environments - Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules - Ability to spend majority of time standing, walking, and driving to properties - Physical capability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop, and occasionally push/pull/lift 25+ lbs
