WRITER is an enterprise generative AI platform enabling leading companies (Mars, Marriott, Uber, Vanguard) to build and deploy AI agents grounded in their data. The company is valued at $1.9B and backed by top-tier investors including Premji Invest, Radical Ventures, and ICONIQ Growth.
You will own a fast-paced, high-volume learning design track focused on short, targeted, just-in-time courses (typically 15–45 minutes each), built in sprints of three weeks or less, shipping roughly 15+ courses per year. Unlike traditional curriculum development, you'll build focused, standalone courses that respond to immediate needs: new workflows, role-specific skills, newly shipped tools, and timely AI topics that can't wait for longer development cycles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build focused, standalone courses in rapid sprints, owning the full lifecycle (needs analysis, design, build, QA, publish) without extended timelines
- Deliver live and virtual training on topics you build, adapting on the fly to audience questions and skill levels
- Repurpose content across delivery modes (on-demand to live, live to on-demand) to maximize reach
- Proactively scan for emerging learning needs by monitoring product changes and customer signals, while also fielding and triaging incoming requests
- Balance proactive and reactive work, making judgment calls about what's worth building and what should be deferred
- Partner with product, product marketing, customer-facing teams, and SMEs to gather information quickly and keep courses moving
- Coordinate with end-to-end learning experience designers to avoid duplication and ensure rapid-response courses complement larger curriculum
This role complements traditional curriculum designers who own robust, polished programs built over longer timelines. You fill the gap they can't reach—shorter, faster, more targeted courses designed to serve specific needs. Think of it as the agile track of the LXD team: smaller scope, faster cadence, bias toward shipping.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or related field, with demonstrated experience designing and shipping courses at a fast pace
- Proven ability to design effective learning in compact formats (15–45 minutes); you know how to scope tight, cut ruthlessly, and deliver high-impact learning
- Comfort with rapid development cycles and short sprints; you thrive in fast-paced environments and can adapt when topics shift mid-sprint
- Strong prioritization and triage skills; you can juggle proactive and reactive work, make tradeoffs, and say no when something doesn't warrant a course
- Excellent live facilitation skills; you're confident and effective delivering in person and virtually, able to read a room and adapt on the fly
- Excellent stakeholder management; you can gather what you need from SMEs quickly, keep things moving, and communicate clearly about expectations
- Proficiency in standard LXD tools: authoring tools (e.g., Parta), LMS platforms (e.g., Skilljar), slide/presentation tools, video production tools, and basic design tools
- Portfolio demonstrating your craft: submit 3–5 excerpts (not full courses) showing your best work. Include at least 2 course excerpts you scripted, recorded, and edited yourself (video, graphics, interactive elements, slide design, in-product walkthroughs, or combination); at least 1 sample teaching a topic in AI; and at least 1 live facilitation example. For each excerpt, include a brief note (2–3 sentences) on what it is, who it's for, what problem it solved, and your specific role
- You're energized by change and dynamic environments, see rapid-response learning design as a craft in its own right, and are comfortable with impermanence—building something knowing it may have a shorter shelf life
