Hive Health is seeking a Senior Actuary to lead actuarial strategy and drive data-driven decision-making for their HMO products in the Philippines. This is a leadership role focused on shaping pricing frameworks, improving risk assessments, and ensuring financial sustainability of healthcare products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of actuarial models to support pricing strategies and new product initiatives
- Analyze healthcare trends, claims experience, and demographic data to inform business decisions and pricing assumptions
- Oversee and mentor the Pricing Specialist, providing guidance on methodologies, models, and reporting
- Collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, Operations, and Sales teams to align actuarial insights with business strategies
- Prepare and present clear, actionable actuarial reports and presentations for senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, actuarial standards, and reporting obligations
- Monitor emerging healthcare and insurance trends to proactively adapt pricing models and risk assessments
- Drive continuous improvement in actuarial processes, tools, and methodologies
The role is hybrid (1 day per week onsite in Ortigas) and offers full-time employment with day-one benefits including comprehensive healthcare coverage and paid time off.
Requirements:
- Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent
- 6+ years of progressive actuarial experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong background in insurance, healthcare financing, and risk management
- Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (R, Python, or SAS)
- Advanced skills in actuarial and financial modeling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to simplify complex actuarial concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing actuarial staff or analysts
- Knowledge of Philippine healthcare regulations and compliance standards
- Familiarity with actuarial software (Prophet, GGY AXIS) and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Exposure to predictive modeling and machine learning techniques
- Strong strategic mindset with ability to influence organizational decisions
