Rapyuta Robotics is a robotics company founded in 2014 as a spinoff from ETH Zurich, with a vision to empower lives through connected machines. The company has raised over ¥10 billion and operates with 200+ multinational team members across Japan, India, and the US. In logistics, they operate rapyuta.io, a cloud robotics platform that integrates picking-assist robots, automated warehouses, and autonomous forklifts to enable flexible automation without major infrastructure overhauls.
The Finance team is rapidly expanding to support the company's growth trajectory and long-term vision, with a focus on strengthening the accounting and financial foundation. As Senior Accounting Staff, you will lead core Finance operations including monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, consolidated financial statements, management accounting, internal controls, auditor coordination, and DX initiatives in accounting processes.
Beyond routine execution, you will drive the design and improvement of closing procedures, accelerate monthly close timelines, standardize accounting processes, and advance management accounting capabilities. You will work in a highly global environment, collaborating with overseas offices in India and the US and cross-functional product teams to support strategic decision-making from accounting, management accounting, and internal control perspectives.
Key responsibilities include: leading consolidated financial statement preparation and establishing closing infrastructure; operating and enhancing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; building and documenting internal controls (J-SOX) for IPO readiness; coordinating with auditors and preparing disclosure documents; driving profit analysis and forecast-vs-actual management; engaging with overseas accounting matters; and advancing accounting process DX. You will also support business planning, conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis, create financial reports for management and business units, coordinate with product teams on financial reconciliation, and build management accounting systems to support business growth. Process improvement and DX initiatives include optimizing monthly close timelines, standardizing and automating accounting operations, reviewing and implementing workflow tools, and establishing data quality frameworks.
The Finance organization encompasses accounting, management accounting, business planning, fundraising, and IR functions. This role offers significant scope to expand responsibilities across Finance domains and take on challenges rarely available in traditional corporate settings.
Requirements:
Must-have: Japanese Commercial Code Level 2 certification or equivalent accounting knowledge; 5+ years of accounting operations experience in business companies; hands-on experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes; strong adaptability to new and rapidly changing environments; excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills; basic English communication ability.
Desirable: backoffice experience at startups or venture-backed companies; accounting or management accounting experience at public or pre-IPO companies; consolidated financial statement experience; auditor coordination experience; internal control design or process improvement background; CPA, USCPA, or tax professional certifications; accounting DX or system implementation/improvement involvement; practical English usage experience.
