Oath is building AI systems to transform the audit industry. This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced audit professional to own the intersection of client engagements, audit judgment, and AI systems.
You will lead client relationships end-to-end, from onboarding through engagement completion and renewal. You'll own a portfolio of complex, high-stakes engagements—including first-of-kind work—and serve as the escalation point for methodology questions. You'll explain AI-generated audit work to client finance teams and fund managers, building confidence in how the work was produced. You'll identify patterns across clients and translate them into product and process improvements for the engineering team.
On the audit quality and judgment side, you'll plan engagements by assessing risk, setting materiality, and scoping procedures across private funds, private companies, employee benefit plans, governments, and nonprofits. You'll act as reviewer on verification and audit procedures and AI-generated workpapers, signing off before they reach clients. You'll make and document judgment calls on the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence in a way that peer reviewers and regulators can follow. You'll track AICPA auditing and attestation standards and keep the firm's methodology and AI workflows current.
For methodology and AI systems, you'll write and maintain the audit methodology, work programs, and quality review standards that AI workflows are built on. You'll define accuracy requirements with engineering and product, and design the evaluations and test cases that prove AI workflows are reliable. You'll build modules and prototypes using AI and technology tools. You'll decide when new AI-assisted procedures are ready for client use. You'll build feedback loops so every engagement improves the system.
You'll also mentor Accounting Engineers, review their work, and raise the team's standard of judgment. You'll help hire, interview, and onboard new team members, and grow the internal knowledge base so learning is shared across the team.
This is an early, senior hire at a startup. Expect wide scope, real ambiguity, and direct influence over how the firm and platform work.
