Salary: USD 80,000 - 145,000 / annual
True Anomaly is a defense and aerospace company building autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to secure the space environment and counter threats. As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key contributor to the month-end and year-end close process and the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
You will support the corporate office with continuous process improvements and regular close procedures within NetSuite. This role is critical in scaling the accounting function, implementing internal controls, and supporting system integration. You will design processes, own entries and transactions within the general ledger, and operate with a high level of autonomy as a reliable problem solver.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Prepare accruals for accurate financial reporting
- Manage overhead and fringe benefit allocations
- Assist with fixed asset capitalization entries and maintain the fixed asset register
- Prepare and manage prepaid expense entries
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and best practices
- Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance the close process, implementing new procedures to improve efficiency and reduce close cycle time
- Support the preparation of financial statements
- Support accounting in accordance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) for CAS-covered contracts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting processes and systems
- Support the annual audit
- Serve as a liaison between the accounting team and other departments to provide guidance and insights on financial matters
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of experience
- CPA a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with government contract accounting, FAR accounting standards, and DCAA compliance is a plus
- Previous Aerospace and Defense experience a plus
- Analytical with exceptional problem-solving skills, high degree of ownership, and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Prior NetSuite experience preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required ITAR authorizations
