Salary: USD 100,000 - 120,000 / annual
Oklo is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. The role focuses on preparing and posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and supporting the monthly and quarterly close process. This is a hands-on position requiring ownership of assigned close activities, investigation and resolution of reconciling items, and maintenance of clear supporting documentation to ensure the general ledger is complete and accurate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in NetSuite (accruals, prepaids, allocations, reclassifications, month-end adjustments)
- Maintain complete journal-entry support with accurate, appropriately approved entries posted within close timelines
- Complete balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations in FloQast, tying balances to NetSuite general ledger
- Research, document, and resolve reconciling items and unusual account activity on a timely basis
- Own assigned monthly and quarterly close tasks in FloQast with proactive communication of status, issues, and dependencies
- Run and analyze NetSuite general ledger, trial balance, and transaction-detail reports
- Prepare account roll-forwards, supporting schedules, and variance analyses for management and financial reporting review
- Partner with accounts payable, payroll, procurement, and other business teams for complete and accurate information
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting activities, including SEC reporting schedules
- Execute assigned internal controls and maintain documentation per company policies and SOX requirements
- Provide schedules and supporting documentation to internal and external auditors
- Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate journal-entry, reconciliation, and close processes
- Assist with accounting research and special projects
Oklo is developing advanced fission power plants for clean energy, fast fission fuel recycling, and critical radioisotope supply. The company was the first to receive a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial advanced fission plant and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The role is hybrid based in Santa Clara, CA. Remote employees must travel to headquarters twice a quarter for team meetings, off-sites, and company events. The first two weeks of onboarding are required in-person at Santa Clara headquarters.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Three to five years of progressive general accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience preparing and posting journal entries and completing balance sheet account reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Bonus Qualifications:
- Big 4 accounting background; CPA is a plus
- Master's degree in accountancy
- Fast growth startup or public company experience
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite for general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with FloQast for account reconciliations and close management
- Experience reconciling and recording Stock Based Compensation and Payroll
