Blue Bottle Coffee is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team supporting the company's specialty coffee and food operations across 82+ US café locations and production sites. This hybrid role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and reports to the Business Controller, US.
The position splits focus between property accounting (60%) and general accounting support (40%). As the lead accountant for property accounting across 80+ locations, you will manage rent, CAM charges, utilities, taxes, licenses, deposits, prepaids, and allocations. You will also handle complex accounting tasks across the income statement and balance sheet, including journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and month-end close procedures. Additional responsibilities include identifying process improvements, performing ad hoc analysis and projects, and supporting the broader accounting function.
You are organized with meticulous attention to detail, able to work independently while managing multiple simultaneous projects, and responsive with strong accountability. You communicate clearly and directly, give and receive feedback constructively, and approach problems with flexibility and curiosity. You are passionate about solving problems and expanding your knowledge beyond task completion.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of corporate accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Proficiency with NetSuite, Excel, Adaptive Planning, Floqast, Coupa, and Square
- Experience with multi-location property accounting (helpful)
- Experience in multi-location retail organizations (helpful)
- Ability to read and interpret lease agreements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
