Salary: USD 95,000 - 142,000 / annual

Palantir Technologies is seeking a Security Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain physical security systems protecting the company's people, assets, intellectual property, and reputation globally. You will lead research and evaluation of the latest security technology, infrastructure, policies, and procedures, focusing on user-friendly solutions that reduce complexity and improve operator efficiency. Working within the Global Security and Investigations team, you'll collaborate with security professionals, architects, lawyers, and software/network engineers to deliver a safe and secure environment across Palantir's worldwide offices and remote outposts. Core responsibilities include: - Design and oversee technical aspects of security projects from conception through full deployment - Work with vendors and end users to troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions efficiently - Leverage both system and software engineering skills to address needs across Global Safety and Security teams - Prepare and document standard operating procedures, protocols, and security standards - Schedule, test, and implement enhancements or new releases of server operating systems - Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation - Present project updates, status reports, and risk summaries to leadership - Ensure deliverables meet internal security policies and regulatory requirements (GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS) - Validate that implemented security controls are effective before project closure - Manage competing deadlines and scope changes You'll travel up to 25% of the time to Palantir's domestic and international offices. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, independent decision-making in a rapidly changing environment, and genuine passion for security and technology. Note: This is a physical security role, not a cyber or information security position. Requirements: - 5+ years' experience maintaining, installing, managing, and problem-solving on security systems and related technologies - Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools - Proficiency with enterprise Video Management Systems, Physical Access Control Systems, Intruder Detection Systems, Communication Systems, and security hardware - Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar - Strong engineering background preferred in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics - Active TS security clearance or willingness and eligibility to obtain one is a plus - Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
