Knox operates the largest Federal & DoD managed cloud, building and securing cloud and AI environments for the U.S. government's most critical missions in national security, public safety, and essential services. This Security Operations Analyst role is a Tier 2 position within a unified security and network operations team that monitors performance, availability, and security from a single queue. You will run shifts with minimal supervision, serving as the senior analyst on duty for most of your shift. Responsibilities include taking escalations from Tier 1 analysts and driving them to containment or appropriate handover, coaching less experienced analysts through decisions rather than taking over, maintaining detailed shift logs for continuity, handling escalated customer requests, and suggesting detection and runbook improvements based on operational observations. Prioritization follows a clear framework: active intrusions or suspected compromises take precedence, followed by service-affecting outages, degradation and early warning signs, and customer requests. You set the pace and decide when issues move up the priority list. Required qualifications include three or more years of hands-on security or network operations experience with shift work, strong escalation judgment, Security+ certification (or equivalent), and willingness to mentor less experienced team members under time pressure. CySA+ or SSCP certifications are a plus; Knox will fund certification costs if needed. No degree, prior corporate experience, or active security clearance is required, though clearance history is a plus. Knox will teach you the environment, detections, FedRAMP compliance requirements, detection engineering and tuning beyond Tier 1 scope, and the path to Tier 3 shift lead roles. The role offers a fixed, published schedule with no rotating shifts, three consecutive days off weekly on a four-day rotation, covered certification costs and renewals, shift premiums on published rates, and transparent salary bands. U.S. citizenship (sole citizenship only) is required due to federal government contract compliance; dual citizenship is not permitted. All offers are contingent on background check and government security clearance eligibility.
