Helsing is a defence AI company on a mission to protect democracies through technological leadership in AI. As Security Manager for Helsing France, you will be the focal point for safeguarding the integrity of capabilities delivered to customers, ensuring all products and programmes meet national and international security requirements, including at classified level.
You will coordinate Helsing's security resources across French teams and work in close partnership with the DGA (French Defence Procurement Agency) and other national authorities to secure accreditation for sensitive infrastructure. This role bridges technical delivery and regulatory compliance, translating complex requirements under IGI 1300 and II 901 into practical, auditable processes that protect both people and mission.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, implement and operate security standards including ISO 27001 and applicable French national frameworks, embedding compliance into everyday delivery
- Coordinate accreditation (homologation) of sensitive infrastructure with the DGA, preparing homologation files, conducting risk analyses and managing external security audits and penetration tests
- Manage the security officer function for Helsing France, overseeing security clearances (habilitations), Security Aspect Letters and compliance with IGI 1300, II 901 and IM900
- Build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring contractual security requirements are met
- Develop and test incident response, business continuity and crisis management plans
- Deliver security awareness and training programmes that embed a strong security culture
- Shape group-wide security policies and contribute to cross-functional security projects spanning multiple European teams
You should have developed and applied security expertise across complex, regulated environments, successfully delivered security or compliance projects from initiation through completion, and hold a recognised qualification or certification in a security-related field. Understanding of French and international security regulations, including handling of classified information, is essential. Familiarity with Information Security Management Systems such as ISO 27001 or NIST Cybersecurity Framework is required. Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including customers and government or military counterparts, are critical.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience in defence, government or other highly regulated environments, familiarity with NATO or EU classified information frameworks, fluency in French and English, experience coordinating penetration tests or technical security audits, and understanding of GDPR and its intersection with national security requirements.
