FlixBus is seeking a Security Expert to lead security operations across North America. This is a strategic leadership role blending field operations with data-driven risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead security escalations and serve as primary liaison with internal stakeholders, local/state/federal law enforcement (TSA, DHS)
- Conduct field security assessments across terminals, bus stops, and corporate facilities using site observations and operational risk modeling
- Manage full lifecycle of third-party security vendors (budget planning, selection, onboarding, performance optimization) for budgets exceeding $5M
- Collect, analyze, and present security data via dashboards to identify trends, assess vendor effectiveness, and deliver executive briefings
- Develop, maintain, and audit security policies, procedures, equipment, and surveillance systems
- Design and deliver security training programs for frontline and corporate employees
- Develop new market security launch strategies in partnership with Operations and Legal
- Lead security incident investigations in conjunction with Legal; provide litigation support and expert testimony
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years progressive security leadership experience, ideally across multi-site operations
- Demonstrated ability to conduct on-site assessments and translate findings into risk models and strategic recommendations
- Proven experience managing budgets exceeding $5M and leading internal investigations
- Strong analytical capability to assess security incident data, identify trends, and develop action plans
- Executive presence to engage frontline teams and C-level leadership
- Eligible for Security Sensitive Employee classification under federal transportation guidelines
- Willing to travel 30-50%
- Background in law enforcement, military, or federal security is a strong plus
