Sunday is building personal robots to reclaim time lost to repetitive household tasks, with a mission to make generalized robots broadly accessible. The company has spent 18 months building a talented team, securing capital, and validating technology, and is now scaling into the next growth phase.
As a Robotics Systems Software Integration Engineer, you will own software releases and integration for customer robots and internal fleets. You will coordinate release scope with engineering and product teams, establish release readiness criteria, and drive testing with the quality assurance team through to deployment. You will partner with the infrastructure team on build, release, and deployment tooling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the release cadence and assembling each release by pinning compatible and reproducible versions across repositories
- Keeping regression, stress, and endurance test plans current as the stack evolves, with clear pass/fail criteria
- Investigating failures using robot logs, reproducing regressions, and driving fixes through merge and retest cycles (implementing fixes directly or coordinating with owning engineers)
- Shipping releases to internal fleets and customer robots, communicating changes to both technical and non-technical teams
- Monitoring release health in the field, landing hotfixes quickly, and improving test coverage
You will be a key bridge between engineering, product, operations, and support, ensuring quality and reliability as the robotics platform scales to real customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years shipping software for robots, vehicles, or other complex products where software meets hardware
- Proficiency in Python or C++, with comfort reading and debugging code across large unfamiliar codebases
- Fluency with git branching, merging, cherry-picking, release branch management, and continuous integration systems
- Strong systems debugging instincts: ability to use logs and code to isolate failures, reproduce them, and identify fix paths
- Experience defining test plans and pass/fail criteria for systems that unit tests cannot fully cover
- Track record of coordinating across teams and maintaining quality standards under schedule pressure
- Clear written communication, including ability to explain technical changes to product, operations, and support colleagues
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience deploying software to device fleets in the field, including staged rollouts and rollback
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or automated on-device testing
- Familiarity with real-time robot software (controls, perception, autonomy stacks)
- Prior release engineering, QA, or technical program management experience in organizations shipping hardware and software
