Wayve is seeking a Roboticist to join the Multi-Embodiment Generalist Agent (MEGA) team within Wayve Labs as a founding member. MEGA is building foundation models for general-purpose robots beyond self-driving vehicles, creating intelligent agents that can perceive, reason, move, and manipulate the physical world across diverse embodiments including mobile manipulators, dual-arm platforms, and humanoids.
In this role, you will lead the development of an offline 3D reconstruction capability that builds high-quality 3D world geometry from vehicle sensor data in dynamic scenes. The system will integrate localization and mapping, state estimation, and sensor fusion to produce offline 3D geometric reconstructions and best-estimate ego motion from heterogeneous vehicle platforms and sensor suites. Your work will support internal validation, data enrichment, and model development by transforming raw sensor data into reliable, quality-assessed 3D ground-truth outputs.
You will work hands-on with real robots and be comfortable debugging across hardware, software, and ML systems. You will move fluidly between research exploration and pragmatic engineering execution, with strong judgment around experiment design, data quality, and model evaluation. You will communicate clearly across research, engineering, and product teams and thrive with 0→1 ownership and ambiguity in a fast-moving research environment.
Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving, pioneering an end-to-end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real-world experience. The company's mapless and hardware-agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2+ through L4 as the core AI model scales.
Wayve operates a hybrid working model combining in-person collaboration in dedicated office spaces with focused remote work. Main hubs are in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver, and Leonberg. The company offers salaries benchmarked against the market, meaningful equity, relocation support and visa sponsorship where applicable, learning and development budgets, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, dental, enhanced parental leave, retirement/pension, access to therapists, and wellbeing partnerships.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in robot manipulation and working with robot hardware
- Experience with C++ and Python in robotics or ML environments
- Strong robotics and machine learning fundamentals, with ability to translate research into robust systems
- Publications in top-tier conferences such as ICRA, CoRL, or IROS are highly valued
- PhD preferred; MS acceptable with strong relevant experience
The company notes that not meeting every requirement is acceptable—if you are passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, you are encouraged to apply.
