Meroka acquires physical-economy businesses (construction, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing) and equips them with technology to scale sustainably while preserving local autonomy and expertise. The company has raised ~$25M CAD from investors including Slow Ventures and 8VC, with a founding team experienced in large-scale construction tech, venture capital, M&A, and operations.
You will design and structure high-value services for Meroka's portfolio companies, enabling them to operate more effectively across administrative, operational, and financial functions. Reporting to the VP of Operations and Product, you'll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to build the operational strategy and roadmap.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and build high-impact service lines from the ground up, establishing quality standards and operational models for each.
- Build and lead the team delivering these services.
- Spend time in acquired companies: talk to frontline workers, understand real workflows, and design services they'll actually use and value.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate services into the core technology platform.
- Partner with the partner operations team to design, build, and deploy service lines.
- Learn from the field to continuously improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Develop processes, tools, and structures that reduce ambiguity and scale impact across the portfolio.
The role is broad and high-impact. You'll balance building from scratch with learning fast, creating value while establishing scalable systems. You'll have exposure to both the Silicon Valley side (product, investors) and the field side (job sites, real operations). Your work will eventually reach millions of people downstream.
Requirements:
- Operational experience in a relevant business function.
- Prior experience leading a team.
- Full fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
- Comfort with ambiguity and building structure from scratch.
- Interest in the physical, built world and the people who operate it.
- Ability to learn quickly and connect insights across domains.
Nice to haves:
- Experience in physical-economy industries (warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, construction).
- Background as a construction project manager, site supervisor, or administrative support.
- Experience building from scratch in early-stage or startup environments.
- Fluency with AI coding tools.
