Nautilus Biotechnology is developing a single-molecule protein analysis platform designed to democratize access to the proteome and accelerate drug development. The company is pursuing hard scientific problems with an entrepreneurial mindset to enable precision and personalized medicine.
As a Research Associate in Reagent Quality Control, you will support the Operations team in executing and optimizing QC methods for incoming inspections and in-house reagent production. You will work directly with the Director of Operations-Reagents and be based in San Carlos, CA.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute plate-based assays, HPLC, and gel electrophoresis to support reagent QC and new reagent validation
- Perform lot release, stability testing, and qualification of critical reagents
- Maintain batch records and documentation for all QC activities
- Collaborate with senior team members to optimize existing QC methods and develop new analytical methods
- Ensure data quality through meticulous organization and adherence to best practices
- Maintain and organize laboratory work areas, including hoods, benches, chemical storage, and waste disposal
- Prepare buffers, maintain inventory, and calibrate/maintain laboratory instruments
- Troubleshoot failed assays and equipment malfunctions
- Author and contribute to Standard Operating Procedures, Test Methods, Development Reports, and other documentation

REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ year of industry experience with MS or 2+ years with BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
- Experience with HPLC and/or FPLC (AKTA), gel electrophoresis, BLI, and plate-based assays
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
