The Legal team at Revolut partners across the organization to provide practical, sharp advice that enables fast growth while maintaining compliance and risk management. This role sits within that team as a Regulatory Counsel focused specifically on AI product initiatives.
You will serve as the primary legal advisor for Revolut's customer-facing AI tools, including automated support assistants, smart routing, and generative AI features. Your core responsibility is translating financial regulations into practical, scalable product guardrails that allow the business to innovate safely.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing regulatory advice on AI product deployment, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory expectations
- Partnering directly with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to design legally sound automated customer journeys, chat assistants, and support workflows
- Structuring regulatory governance frameworks for AI decision-making, automated resolution pathways, and vulnerable customer protection mechanisms
- Liaising with specialist external counsel, distilling complex advice for senior management and non-legal stakeholders
- Balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution of complex legal matters with tight turnaround times
This is a hybrid role with presence in New York, London, or remote flexibility. You will work closely with Group Legal, Product, and Engineering teams across Revolut's global organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in financial services regulation and product counseling
- Excellent academic credentials and law firm background
- Sound judgment, composure under pressure, and collaborative mindset
- Ability to make decisions with ambiguity and incomplete information
- Solid knowledge of AI legal principles, including the EU AI Act, automated decision-making compliance, and data governance
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience conducting AI impact assessments within a regulated financial institution
