Bluestone Physician Services is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Informaticist to drive the optimal use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and related clinical technologies across their care delivery network. The organization specializes in managing complex, chronic conditions and disabilities through multidisciplinary care teams, with demonstrated outcomes including 21% fewer ER visits, 36% fewer hospitalizations, and 41% fewer hospital readmissions compared to similar patient populations.
In this hybrid role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in EHR workflows, collaborating with clinical, operational, and IT partners to enhance care delivery, documentation, and end-user experience. You will translate clinical workflows into efficient EHR processes aligned with operational and regulatory requirements, lead EHR optimization initiatives including workflow redesign and template development, and provide education and training for EHR enhancements and upgrades.
Key responsibilities include: utilizing data and analytics to inform process improvement and drive behavior change related to EHR usage; acting as a liaison between clinical users, operations, and technical teams; participating in testing, validation, and quality assurance for EHR updates; collaborating with data management teams to ensure data integrity; maintaining system security and patient confidentiality standards; developing documentation and policies related to clinical informatics; championing standardization and adoption of best practices across care settings; and providing mentorship to informatics team members.
The role involves approximately 40% field time collaborating directly with clinicians for workflow observation, go-live support, and hands-on EHR training. Year 1 travel expectations are higher (1–2 days per week) for intensive training, shadowing, and onboarding at the Stillwater, MN corporate office. Long-term travel will stabilize while remaining a core component for ongoing optimization and site visits. Candidates residing in Minnesota are strongly preferred, though qualified candidates in Wisconsin and Florida will be considered.

**Requirements:**
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent clinical degree; candidates with significant clinical informatics experience may be considered in place of a BSN
- 3+ years of experience in informatics and/or EHR build and workflows
- 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting
- Experience working directly with providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize workflows
- Experience implementing or standardizing clinical workflows and documentation processes in an EHR
- Strong understanding of EHR data capture and its relationship to reporting, analytics, and quality improvement
- Leadership experience (formal or informal) supporting projects, education, or workflow initiatives
- Athena EHR experience
- Strong technical aptitude and experience with EHR configuration, testing, and system navigation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate clinical needs into technical requirements
- Demonstrated leadership through influence and effective change management
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives
- Skilled in facilitation, presentation, and adult learning techniques
- Collaborative, resourceful, and creative problem solver with focus on practical solutions
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Master's degree in Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, or related field
- Prior experience in clinical education, training, or process improvement
