Salary: CAD 70,000 - 75,000 / annual
COBS Bread, part of the Bakers Delight franchise network (700+ locations globally), is seeking a Regional Operations Specialist to support franchise bakeries across the Prairies region. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, this role combines field-based operational oversight with strategic support to drive sales, profitability, and quality standards across the franchise portfolio.
Key responsibilities include conducting regular bakery visits and assessments to evaluate franchisee compliance with merchandising, customer experience, and product quality standards. You'll provide in-bakery training and operational guidance to identify and implement improvements for increasing sales and operating profit. The role involves coordinating local marketing initiatives, attending production process reviews to ensure recipe compliance, and conducting in-bakery reviews of actual production versus schedules. You'll participate in quarterly and annual business reviews, monitor bakery performance against standards, and work with franchisees to implement corrective actions as needed.
The ideal candidate brings 1–2 years of operations experience, preferably in a franchise retail environment, combined with 2+ years of customer service experience. Baking experience is required. You'll need a valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently and spend significant time in the field rather than at a desk. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills are essential, along with the ability to influence others and drive continuous improvement. You should be comfortable working autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team, with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
