Wave is a fintech company on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent by building accessible financial services—mobile money, peer-to-peer payments, and business banking—across Sub-Saharan Africa. The company operates in 9 countries with millions of users and is growing rapidly.
As Regional IT Manager, you will oversee IT operations across multiple Wave markets in West Africa, including Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, and Burkina Faso. You'll be based in Abidjan and travel regularly across the region.
Key responsibilities:
- Own IT infrastructure and operations across multiple countries, maintaining 99.9% uptime for hardware, core tools, and services.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for country-level IT issues, coordinating with local IT staff and external vendors.
- Ensure all employees have access to necessary tools and equipment.
- Develop and maintain IT playbooks, policies, and documentation to standardize processes across locations.
- Enforce standardized IT processes (onboarding, offboarding, asset management, information security, infrastructure configuration).
- Partner with the Information Security team to implement and adapt Wave's security policies to regional operational realities.
- Advise leadership on regional constraints—purchasing, network infrastructure, local regulations—that affect policy design and execution.
- Identify resourcing gaps, drive hiring decisions for IT roles in your remit.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with People, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Manage vendor contracts, SLAs, renewals, and performance metrics.
- Evaluate technology investments and provide cost-benefit analysis.
- Participate in security reviews, incident response, and risk assessments.
- Own the IT budget for your countries of responsibility.
- Analyze operational metrics, technology spending, and support trends.
Requirements:
- 5+ years as a Country IT Manager in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing IT operations across regionally dispersed teams.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Experience managing corporate applications (G Suite, etc.).
- Network management experience (Palo Alto, Cisco, Sophos, or similar).
- Experience selecting, implementing, and managing endpoint management solutions.
- Work authorization in Ivory Coast required.
