The Regional Access Director (RAD) is a first-line people leader responsible for managing a geographically dispersed Field Access Manager (FAM) team in the Southeast region, with a focus on diabetes care. This role leads all field reimbursement activities within the assigned region to achieve patient access objectives aligned with company vision, values, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as first-line manager for assigned Field Access Managers, providing direction, prioritization, coaching, and accountability for regional field execution
- Coordinate in-field activity to maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to drive results
- Conduct routine field visits, ride-alongs, coaching conversations, and performance reviews to reinforce compliant field behaviors and strengthen account planning
- Build and sustain a high-performing field-based team by identifying skill gaps, creating development plans, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of engagement and continuous learning
- Establish individualized development plans for Field Access Managers with measurable goals and coaching priorities
- Maintain technical expertise regarding products, policies, and business-related issues
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and processes
- Partner with training, analytics, compliance, HUB operations, and cross-functional teams to equip the field team with necessary tools and resources

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 12+ years in pharmaceutical industry with experience in payer policy and product access
- 7+ years of experience in benefit verifications and/or prior-authorization requirements or equivalent patient access experience
- 3+ years leading successful field access/reimbursement teams with responsibility for coaching, developing, and managing performance of field-based team members
- Detailed understanding of both pharmacy and medical benefit product models
- Knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and processes with experience in Medicare Parts B & D coverage
- Knowledge and understanding of specialty markets, HUB/reimbursement services, and patient access programs
- Strong analytical skills to assess market dynamics, competitor activity, and continuous diabetes monitoring trends
- Ability to gather and interpret data to guide regional strategy
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and videoconferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, GoTo Meeting)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MS, RN, PA, PharmD, or similar healthcare/scientific degree)
- Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Endocrinology experience
- Previous launch experience in Access/Reimbursement leadership role
- Previous experience in other biopharmaceutical functions (product marketing, managed care, field sales, case management, or large healthcare practice experience)
