Hex is seeking a Recruiting Operations Manager to own the systems, processes, data, and programs that power hiring at the company. This is a builder role focused on scaling the recruiting function with clean data, sharp reporting, efficient workflows, and a best-in-class hiring experience.
You will architect the recruiting tech stack end-to-end, including ATS (ideally Ashby), sourcing tools, scheduling, and assessment platforms. You'll design and continuously improve the hiring workflow from requisition approval through sourcing, coordination, offer, and close, automating manual steps wherever possible. You'll make strategic build-versus-buy and consolidate-versus-keep decisions for the tech stack.
Owning recruiting analytics is central to the role. You'll build dashboards and reports that leadership uses to make decisions: pipeline health, funnel conversion, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and hiring forecasts. You'll establish data hygiene standards and partner with Finance and People Operations on headcount planning and requisition management.
You'll identify where AI genuinely improves the hiring funnel, build it into workflows deliberately, and define how success is measured. You'll set guardrails and create reusable workflows the team runs on, avoiding accumulation of unmeasured experiments. You'll be clear about where humans stay in the loop.
Treating hiring as a system with defined inputs and outputs, you'll run experiments on sourcing approaches, interview structures, and automations to improve quality and speed. You'll lead interviewer training, structured interview rollout, and consistency programs that raise the bar and reduce bias. You'll own candidate experience operationally—scheduling SLAs, communication cadences, feedback loops—ensuring every candidate experiences a smooth, high-signal process that feels human despite underlying automation.
You'll report to the Head of Talent and work cross-functionally with Finance, People Operations, and Data teams. The role shapes its own playbook as the function grows, requiring comfort with ambiguity and a bias to action.
