Hex is seeking a Recruiting Operations Manager to build and scale the systems, processes, and data infrastructure powering the company's hiring function. This is a hands-on builder role reporting to the Head of Talent. You will own the recruiting tech stack end-to-end, including ATS (ideally Ashby), sourcing tools, scheduling, and assessment platforms. You'll design and continuously improve the hiring workflow from requisition approval through offer and close, automating mechanical work to free recruiters and hiring managers to focus on relationships and judgment. Key responsibilities include architecting the recruiting system with clean data and sharp reporting; building recruiting analytics that leadership uses for pipeline health, funnel conversion, time-to-fill, and hiring forecasts; establishing data hygiene standards; and partnering with Finance and People Operations on headcount planning and req management. You'll identify where AI genuinely improves the funnel, build it deliberately into workflows, and define success metrics. You'll run experiments on sourcing approaches, interview structures, and automations, measuring impact on quality and speed. You'll lead interviewer training, structured interview rollouts, and consistency programs that reduce bias and raise the bar. Candidate experience is critical: you'll own scheduling SLAs, communication cadences, and feedback loops to ensure every candidate experiences a smooth, high-signal process that feels human despite the automation underneath. Required: 6+ years in recruiting operations, talent operations, People Ops, BizOps, or analytics at a high-growth company. Deep hands-on ATS expertise (admin and workflow builder level), strong analytical skills with SQL and BI tools, and a track record of shipping internal tools and automations. You need experience scaling manual processes into documented, adopted workflows and implementing AI-powered recruiting automation with clear judgment on where it helps. Comfort with ambiguity, bias to action, and ability to partner across recruiters, hiring managers, Finance, People, and Data teams required. Bonus: headcount planning tools and HRIS experience.
