LeoLabs is building a global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform for space domain awareness, tracking over 25,000 objects in low Earth orbit. The company protects billions in assets, monitors adversarial behavior, and ensures safe operations for commercial and government space missions.
The R&D Procurement Specialist will support the Operations, Logistics & Supply Chain organization by procuring critical materials, components, equipment, and services that enable LeoLabs' advanced radar and sensing technology development. This role bridges Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, ensuring specialized technical items are sourced, ordered, and delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with quality and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities include identifying and managing suppliers for complex hardware and electronics; translating engineering requirements and program schedules into sourcing plans; soliciting and analyzing quotations; negotiating pricing and delivery terms; monitoring supplier performance and procurement risks; supporting long-lead material planning and alternate sourcing strategies; and maintaining accurate procurement records. The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to resolve sourcing constraints and support prototype builds, testing, and production readiness milestones.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in technical, engineering-focused, or hardware development environments, with demonstrated expertise procuring specialized components, electronics, RF/radar hardware, test equipment, or engineering services. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Personnel Security Clearance; proficiency with ERP and procurement systems; intermediate Excel skills; and strong analytical and communication abilities. Experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, or advanced technology environments is highly valued. The role demands comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, long lead times, and low-volume or prototype production cycles in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
