Blockchain.com, a leading global cryptocurrency platform with 90+ million wallet holders, is seeking a Quantitative Trader to join its Market Making desk in London. You will work at the intersection of trading, data, and technology, helping to run, analyze, and develop automated market-making strategies that provide liquidity across digital asset exchanges and trading pairs.
In this role, you will collaborate directly with senior traders, quants, and engineers on a compact, high-performing team. You'll take on strategy ownership and grow into a fully-fledged quantitative trader in a fast-moving 24/7 market.
Key responsibilities include:
**Market Making Operations:** Research and develop market-making strategies across centralized and decentralized exchanges (CEX/DEX) and automated market maker (AMM) structures. Monitor live automated strategies across multiple exchanges and trading pairs, identify issues, and escalate as needed. Learn how strategy parameters (spreads, quote sizes, inventory management, risk limits) work and adjust them within agreed limits under senior guidance. Troubleshoot live trading issues by collaborating with traders and engineers.
**Trading Analytics:** Conduct post-trade analysis on execution quality, fill rates, inventory, and profitability, presenting findings to the desk. Write Python and SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze trading and order book data. Assist with backtesting and research into strategy improvements alongside traders and quantitative developers.
**Reporting & Automation:** Build and maintain dashboards and reports tracking trading KPIs (uptime, spread, depth, volume, P&L). Leverage AI tools and automation to streamline monitoring, alerting, and reporting. Suggest process improvements to enhance desk performance.
**Client & Internal Support:** Prepare performance reports demonstrating whether client strategies meet agreed KPIs. Contribute market insights to clients and internal stakeholders on trading flows, liquidity conditions, and price movements.
The role is based in the London office with mandatory in-office presence four days per week. You may work remotely from anywhere globally for up to 20 days per year.
**Requirements:**
- 2–4 years of experience in trading, quantitative analysis, data analysis, or related field; graduates and those with internship experience in trading or quant roles are welcome
- Working proficiency in Python and/or SQL; exposure to Rust or another systems language is a plus
- Comfortable using AI tools, data visualization, and automation to improve workflows
- Intense mindset and eager to learn
- Ability to explain findings clearly to traders and engineers
