Relativity Space is building advanced rockets, including the Terran R vehicle, to deliver payloads to orbit and advance space exploration. The company combines 3D printing manufacturing with aerospace engineering to create a new paradigm in launch capability.
The Quality Specialist II role is based at Cape Canaveral, where Relativity's Launch team operates at the intersection of all major aspects of the Terran R program—from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. This position offers exposure to the full scope of space launch operations and the opportunity to shape quality processes during a critical growth phase.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the site Material Review Board (MRB) process by inspecting non-conforming parts, supporting root cause analysis, executing material dispositions, coordinating internal rework, maintaining quality records, and managing vendor return material authorizations (RMAs) in partnership with Warehouse and Purchasing teams.
• Manage containment activities for non-conforming materials, tooling, and inspection equipment to protect product quality, maintain production capacity, and minimize operational disruption.
• Develop and implement inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities aligned with Product Quality Engineering requirements and established quality standards.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to standardize inspection methods, investigate recurring non-conformances, and implement corrective or preventive actions.
• Review manufacturing process plans and inspection requirements, providing actionable recommendations that improve quality controls, inspection effectiveness, and production processes.
• Drive quality system compliance and continuous improvement by supporting calibration management, internal audits, traceability data analysis, quality procedures, and initiatives that identify trends, reduce quality risks, and improve operational performance.
This is an individual contributor role focused on hands-on quality assurance and process improvement in a high-stakes aerospace manufacturing environment. You'll work at the intersection of multiple teams and see your impact directly on launch readiness and mission success.
