Saronic Technologies is seeking an experienced Site Quality Manager to lead all Quality operations at their shipyard facility in Franklin, Louisiana. This role oversees the implementation and execution of the Quality Management System (QMS) across fabrication, integration, outfitting, testing, and delivery of autonomous surface vessels.
Key responsibilities include managing all site-based Quality personnel (Quality Engineers, Inspectors, NDT technicians), overseeing daily Quality operations across fabrication, assembly, electrical integration, outfitting, and test activities, and serving as the primary point of contact for all site Quality matters in customer reviews, audits, and regulatory inspections. The manager will establish alignment with company-wide Quality objectives, ISO 9001 standards, and ensure effective QMS implementation including document control, nonconformance management, CAPA, and risk mitigation.
The role requires leading internal and external audits, ensuring consistent application of inspection and testing procedures, and driving adherence to customer, ABS, US Navy, and regulatory quality standards. The manager will analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement, lead cross-functional problem-solving teams, and drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies.
Additional responsibilities include providing technical oversight for inspection and test activities during hull fabrication, systems integration, harbor testing, and sea trials; maintaining accurate and auditable records; preparing site quality performance reports; and mentoring Quality team members to promote a culture of ownership and accountability.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical discipline (or equivalent shipbuilding/manufacturing experience), minimum 8+ years in Quality Assurance/Engineering with 3–5 years in a management or supervisory role, and strong background in shipbuilding, defense manufacturing, or maritime integration. Experience with ABS, US Navy, or maritime/defense quality requirements is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency with quality tools (FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, CAPA), strong data analysis skills, excellent leadership and communication abilities, and proven relationship-building with production, engineering, and customer representatives.
