Saronic Technologies, a leader in autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense, is seeking an experienced Site Quality Manager to lead all Quality operations at their shipyard facility in Franklin, LA. This is a hands-on management role responsible for overseeing the implementation and execution of the Quality Management System (QMS) across fabrication, integration, outfitting, testing, and delivery of autonomous surface vessels. Key responsibilities include managing all site-based Quality personnel (Quality Engineers, Inspectors, NDT technicians), overseeing daily Quality operations across all production phases, and serving as the primary point of contact for site Quality matters in customer reviews, audits, and regulatory inspections. You will ensure effective QMS implementation including document control, nonconformance management, CAPA, and risk mitigation, while driving adherence to customer, ABS, US Navy, and regulatory quality standards. The role requires analyzing quality data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities, leading cross-functional problem-solving teams, and supporting production leadership in developing process control plans and KPIs. You will provide technical oversight for inspection and test activities during hull fabrication, systems integration, harbor testing, and sea trials, ensuring traceability and documentation accuracy. Additionally, you will maintain auditable records, prepare quality performance reports, mentor Quality team members, and promote a culture of ownership and accountability for quality across all departments. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical discipline (or equivalent shipbuilding/manufacturing experience), minimum 8+ years in Quality Assurance/Engineering with 3–5 years in a management or supervisory role, and strong background in shipbuilding, defense manufacturing, or maritime integration. Experience with ABS, US Navy, or maritime/defense quality requirements is preferred. You must demonstrate proficiency with quality tools (FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, CAPA), strong data analysis skills, and excellent leadership and communication abilities. In-depth knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, and test processes for complex mechanical and electrical systems is essential.
