As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure the performance, yield, and reliability of production operations at LVT's manufacturing facility in Spanish Fork, Utah. Operating with moderate autonomy on the manufacturing floor, you will solve intermediate technical challenges across electro-mechanical assemblies, lead root-cause analysis, and optimize automated test systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing root-cause analysis on electromechanical component and assembly failures using methodologies like 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone to resolve Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and production deviations
- Assisting in designing, developing, and deploying automated test fixtures and equipment, utilizing basic software/scripting integration (Python, PLCs) to evaluate in-process and end-of-line performance
- Supporting creation and execution of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and establishing testing protocols and acceptance criteria
- Analyzing and monitoring production data to track yield, defect metrics, and operational trends, converting insights into actionable reports
- Evaluating testing procedures and cycle times to identify bottlenecks and drive process refinements that enhance first-pass yield
- Ensuring manufacturing methods, testing workflows, and documentation align with ISO 9001 standards and customer specifications
- Collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering and Hardware Design teams on acceptance criteria, New Product Introductions (NPI), and quality handoffs
Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) with 2–5 years of professional manufacturing experience. Required skills include hands-on exposure to automated test equipment, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and familiarity with automation tools or scripting (PLC programming, Python). Strong electro-mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities are essential.
This is a full-time, on-site role with no routine travel required.
