The Nuclear Company, a Series A AI-enabled startup pioneering next-generation nuclear reactor deployment, seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer to support the Director of Quality Assurance across all four QA lanes: enterprise governance, supplier and partner assurance, program implementation, and quality services.
This mid-career generalist role is the backbone of the QA team's execution. You will translate the Director's strategic priorities into finished work—developing and maintaining QA procedures, supporting quality integration on new greenfield and brownfield deployment projects, maintaining audit-ready quality records, and establishing metrics that drive leadership decision-making. You'll work daily with QA leads, contract auditors, and cross-functional partners in Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Construction, and Licensing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain QA procedures and program documents under the procedure roadmap, coordinating with subject-matter experts.
- Support quality integration on new deployment projects—quality plans, design requirements, procurement, construction, and testing.
- Maintain quality records and objective evidence practices to ensure completeness, retrievability, and audit readiness.
- Establish and report QA metrics, trends, and program status.
- Support internal and supplier assessments, audits, and surveillances, including corrective action follow-up.
- Provide cross-program QA support and coordinate actions across functions.
You bring 5+ years in quality assurance, including 3+ years under ASME NQA-1 and/or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B programs. You are a strong technical writer with demonstrated generalist range across at least two QA functions. The role offers unusually broad exposure for a mid-career QA professional, with a clear growth path toward senior lead roles as the organization scales.
