Plenful is an AI automation platform transforming healthcare operations, backed by $50M Series B funding from Notable Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, and others. The company serves 100+ health systems, pharmacies, and healthcare organizations with tools that eliminate manual work, reduce administrative burden, and improve compliance.
You will own quality strategy across multiple products and engineering teams, establishing and improving automated testing coverage across the core platform. In your first six months, you'll integrate automated testing throughout the deployment pipeline to reduce regression risk and build quality metrics that give engineering teams confidence to ship faster without sacrificing reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain robust automated test suites for web applications, APIs, backend services, and integrations
- Develop testing frameworks that are scalable, maintainable, and integrated into CI/CD pipelines
- Partner with software engineers during feature development to identify quality risks early
- Define test plans, acceptance criteria, and release readiness for new product initiatives
- Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Drive automation-first testing practices while minimizing manual regression testing
- Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to ensure requirements are testable
- Monitor production quality metrics and investigate customer-reported issues
- Champion engineering excellence through code reviews and continuous process improvements
- Mentor engineers on testing best practices and build a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility
The role is hybrid with two days per week in the San Francisco office. The company is remote-first with meaningful office presence in San Francisco and New York.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering
- Experience building automated testing frameworks for modern SaaS applications
- Testing REST APIs and microservice-based architectures
- Experience with YAML-based testing
- Proficiency with one or more automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
- Ability to write automated tests in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into deployment workflows
- Experience with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and modern software development practices
- Familiarity with SQL and validating data across relational databases
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration across Engineering, Product, and Design
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience testing AI or machine learning-enabled applications
- Healthcare software or regulated environment experience
- Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architecture familiarity
- Performance, load, or security testing experience
- Workflow automation platforms or enterprise SaaS testing background
- Exposure to observability platforms (Datadog, Grafana, or similar)
- Fast-paced startup environment experience
