Fellow is an AI meeting assistant that helps teams turn conversations into decisions and action. The company is a Series A startup founded in 2017, backed by Craft Ventures, iNovia Capital, and Felicis Ventures, and is headquartered in Ottawa with a remote-first culture. As a QA Analyst, you will own quality across Fellow's full meeting workflow: web, desktop, and mobile applications, covering agendas, notes, recording, AI recaps, and customer workflows. You will design and execute comprehensive test plans, perform exploratory testing that goes beyond documented cases to reflect real customer usage, and help the team determine release readiness. Key responsibilities include: - Join projects from inception through deployment, providing feedback on scope, functionality, design, risk, and testability - Create and maintain detailed test plans for web, desktop, and mobile, covering critical workflows, integrations, and edge cases - Perform exploratory testing to discover how customers actually use the product - Own and maintain automated end-to-end regression tests, regularly reviewing coverage and removing outdated scenarios - Investigate automated test failures, distinguish product defects from test instability, and address flaky tests - Monitor scheduled regression and smoke suites, communicate failures clearly, and ensure results support release decisions - Collaborate with Engineering on testability and determine which scenarios should be automated, manual, or covered at another level - Confirm deployment readiness by verifying tickets, running targeted tests, assessing risk, and providing release approval - Perform post-deployment checks and help investigate customer-reported issues - Use AI agents (Cursor, Claude) to draft test plans, identify edge cases, maintain tests, and investigate failures—while independently validating output - Share knowledge and help improve QA practices, tooling, and AI-native workflows The role is centered on manual QA and holistic testing, not pure automation. You will work in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve, responsibilities shift, and you're expected to ask good questions, identify what matters most, and move work forward with pragmatism and positive energy. REQUIREMENTS: - 4+ years of manual QA experience with web, desktop, and/or mobile applications - Experience creating, executing, debugging, and maintaining automated end-to-end regression tests - Exceptional attention to detail; ability to notice subtle inconsistencies and assess customer impact - Strong prioritization and time-management skills; able to balance multiple projects and focus on highest-risk areas - Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to help teammates succeed - Patience and sound judgment when requirements are unclear, incomplete, or changing - Comfort with startup culture, quick-moving priorities, and evolving responsibilities - Confidence to raise concerns, ask clarifying questions, and advocate for quality while remaining pragmatic - Hands-on use of AI tools (Cursor, Claude, or similar) in real QA work, with judgment to verify output - Familiarity with browser developer tools (element inspector, console, network inspector) - Ability to distinguish between defects, UX feedback, and feature requests - Strong knowledge of QA workflows, ticket-management tools (Linear), and deployment activities - Availability for occasional late deployments NICE TO HAVE: - Track record of improving QA team testing with AI (prompts, agent workflows, investigation checklists, release checks) - Experience testing AI product behavior, including cases where output quality, privacy, or trust matters - Experience in high-growth product companies or startups
