Source is building an AI-native operating system for global commercial construction, designed to accelerate decision-making across project lifecycles. The Purchasing Project Director will lead the purchasing function, overseeing a team of Purchasing Project Managers and Coordinators responsible for sourcing, budgeting, and delivering FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) for commercial and hospitality projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Team Leadership: Manage project timelines, team capacity allocation, and professional development. Train team members on purchasing processes, Source's proprietary software, and maintain standard operating procedures.
Specification & Budget Oversight: Partner with internal and external stakeholders (architects, designers, owners, contractors) to ensure specifications align with design vision and stay within budget. Audit specifications and floor plans, track budget changes, and communicate adjustments appropriately.
Vendor & Bid Management: Build vendor bid lists, execute RFQ processes, ensure data accuracy, and present bid analyses with vendor recommendations to clients.
Logistics & Procurement: Prepare and analyze logistics RFPs, recommend logistics partners, support purchase order and change order generation, oversee vendor bill approvals and invoice tracking, and assist with client cash flow management.
Project Execution & Closeout: Ensure accurate order tracking and transparent reporting. Coordinate sample and finish submittals, partner with Installation Manager on onsite requirements, maintain regular client communication, and process project closeouts within 30 days of installation.
The role requires 7+ years of FF&E purchasing experience and 5+ years managing purchasing teams. Candidates should have demonstrated ability to hire and scale teams, lead complex projects independently, read architectural specifications, and proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. A bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management, or related field is required. The position is fully remote with a collaborative, tech-enabled workflow.
