Zeel is seeking a Provider Credentialing Specialist to ensure all licensed massage therapists and behavioral health professionals meet regulatory standards for care delivery through its platform. This remote role is critical to maintaining compliance, supporting government payer partnerships, and enabling high-quality care at scale.
You will conduct primary source verification of medical credentials, certifications, and background checks for provider applicants. Key responsibilities include collecting and validating credentialing documents in accordance with internal policies and HIPAA standards, maintaining provider records in credentialing systems, and managing recredentialing outreach. You'll assist with audits, reporting, and compliance filings related to provider credentials and service eligibility.
The role requires direct communication with providers to request missing documentation and provide status updates. You will help manage end-to-end provider account creation and collaborate with Onboarding, Compliance, and Provider Experience teams to support timely provider activation. You'll track state-specific requirements, expirations, and renewal timelines to maintain an active, compliant network, staying current on changes in licensure regulations and clinical credentialing standards.
Additional responsibilities include managing relationships with credentialing and occupational health vendors, scheduling providers in mobile health programs, facilitating clinical authorization forms, and reviewing medical documents with clinical team members.
Required qualifications include 2–4 years of experience in credentialing, compliance, provider enrollment, or healthcare administration. You must be familiar with provider credentialing processes and standards (NCQA, URAC, state board licensure, NPDB), demonstrate strong attention to detail, and manage high-volume documentation across multiple deadlines. Excellent communication skills and comfort working with healthcare professionals are essential. Proficiency with credentialing systems, Google Workspace, and project tracking tools is required. US work eligibility is mandatory; visa sponsorship is not available.
Preferred qualifications include experience credentialing licensed massage therapists or allied health professionals, knowledge of VA, Medicaid, or Medicare Advantage credentialing compliance, background in multi-state provider networks or mobile care delivery, NAMSS certification (CPCS or CPMSM), bilingual English/Spanish capability, and experience with Salesforce, Verifiable, Evident, or Kustomer.
