The Farmer's Dog is seeking a Senior Manager of Protein Procurement to lead the execution of protein sourcing and supplier management across the company's supply chain. Reporting to the Director of Protein Procurement, you will own the strategy and day-to-day execution of supplier relationships, first-mile freight partnerships, and new partner identification and onboarding. Your responsibilities include driving best practices in sourcing, inventory management, and supplier relationship management; leading resolution of complex supply issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement programs; managing supplier contracts and negotiations within established pricing strategies; and building KPI frameworks to hold suppliers accountable to performance standards. You will serve as a key escalation point for material supply risk, translating cross-functional problems into clear action plans and helping establish the frameworks (KPIs, cost models, contingency plans) that enable the Planning and Procurement team to operate proactively. You'll partner closely with Manufacturing, Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQR), Finance, and Supply Chain leadership to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive value at scale. The Farmer's Dog is a venture-backed pet food company on a mission to transform the $90 billion pet food industry by replacing processed kibble with personalized, freshly-made dog food delivered via subscription. The company has delivered over 1 billion meals and raised $150M+ in funding. The culture emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, customer-centric decision-making, hypothesis-driven work, and continuous improvement over rigid best practices.
