The Exploration Company is developing Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo transport and eventual human missions. The propulsion system is critical to Nyx's operation and safety, combining in-house development with outsourced partnerships across multiple suppliers.
As Propulsion Procurement Manager, you will own the procurement strategy and execution for the propulsion subsystem. Your responsibilities include developing make-or-buy strategies in collaboration with engineering teams, identifying innovative suppliers within the New Space industry, and supporting aggressive production, testing, and qualification schedules. You will lead RFx (Request for Proposal/Quote) campaigns, evaluate potential partners alongside the engineering team, and drive supplier selection decisions. Contract negotiation and post-signature management fall under your purview, with accountability for ensuring efficiency, reliability, and scalability across the supply chain.
You will work autonomously under pressure, managing competing priorities while challenging internal processes and pushing the organization toward operational excellence. This role requires close collaboration with engineering on complex technical development and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving requirements in a fast-moving aerospace environment.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical, engineering, or business discipline; basic knowledge of contracts and business administration; and proven experience working closely with engineering teams on complex technical projects. You must demonstrate strong autonomous work capability, excellent English communication (written and spoken), and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred experience includes procurement or supply chain management background, familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo or similar), and proficiency in French, German, or Italian. The role is based in Bordeaux, France, and applicants must be nationals of EU member states, Norway, Switzerland, UK, Canada, or Cyprus.
