Salary: USD 150,000 - 173,000 / annual

The Nuclear Company is a Series A AI-enabled startup transforming nuclear energy development through a design-once, build-many approach. They combine nuclear industry expertise with modern technology and AI to accelerate the deployment of nuclear power while maintaining the highest safety and regulatory standards. The Project Manager, Development owns integrated execution of one or more nuclear development projects through the Front-End Loading (FEL) stage-gate process. You will be the single point of accountability for scope, schedule, cost, and risk across all development workstreams. This role requires managing a broad matrixed team spanning land, licensing, permitting, interconnection, engineering, environmental, cost, finance, legal, and commercial functions, and serving as the primary interface to the project sponsor. Key responsibilities include: - Owning integrated project schedules and deliverables for assigned FEL phases, including milestone tracking, critical-path management, and schedule adherence reporting - Developing and maintaining core project management documents: Project Execution Plan, Project Charter, stage-gate checklists, delegation of authority, and weekly executive summaries - Cross-functional integration of all workstreams, resolving interfaces and dependencies across disciplines - Managing project risk registers, driving mitigations to closure, and escalating threats to stage-gate criteria - Preparing and executing stage-gate governance, including deliverable completeness reviews and gate package presentations - Managing cost performance against approved budgets, coordinating estimates, escalation, contingency, and funding requests - Conducting scenario and strategy analysis (schedule acceleration, long-lead activity pull-forward, decision-gate timing) to inform executive decisions Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related technical field - 8+ years of project management experience on large capital projects, including 3+ years in early-phase development or front-end loading (FEL/FEED) environments - Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams within a stage-gate or phase-gate governance framework - Working knowledge of project controls fundamentals: CPM scheduling, cost estimate classification (AACE), risk management, and change control - Strong executive-level written communication; proficiency with scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or MS Project) and advanced Excel Preferred Qualifications: - Nuclear power development, licensing, or construction experience; familiarity with NRC regulatory framework (10 CFR Parts 50/52/100) and lessons learned from recent U.S. nuclear construction programs - PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification; advanced degree (MBA or MS) - Familiarity with utility-scale generation development: interconnection queues (PJM/MISO), state siting and economic development programs, and land assembly - Experience with AACE Recommended Practices for estimate classification and escalation
