Homebase is seeking a Project Lead for Payroll Implementation to own the end-to-end onboarding experience for small business customers implementing Homebase Payroll. You will serve as the primary point of contact from project kickoff through the customer's first payroll run, ensuring implementations stay on track and on timeline.
Key responsibilities include: managing the complete payroll implementation process; collecting and reconciling complex customer data (business entity details, employee demographics, YTD records); training customers to ensure confidence and self-sufficiency post-onboarding; investigating and resolving payroll questions through regulatory research and cross-functional collaboration; partnering with Sales to address implementation blockers; surfacing product feedback to drive improvements; and maintaining accurate records in Salesforce.
You will work closely with an Onboarding Implementation Specialist who handles technical tasks and data loads. The role requires strong project management skills to juggle multiple concurrent client engagements, advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for data reconciliation, hands-on CRM experience (Salesforce preferred), and deep knowledge of payroll compliance across varying state and local regulations.
Success in this role demands clear communication to translate complex payroll concepts for both customers and internal stakeholders, strong problem-solving abilities to navigate ambiguity independently, and a metrics-driven mindset. You'll be expected to actively leverage AI tools to improve workflows and operational efficiency, test and measure AI-driven solutions, and continuously adapt as capabilities evolve.
