Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Project Engineer and Site Lead to manage the developmental test site for Collaborative Combat Aircraft in Victorville, California. This is a high-visibility, high-growth-potential role that will establish standards for the business line to apply to future programs.
You will serve as a linchpin aligning test operations, maintenance, and test engineering to meet program objectives. You will lead the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test team responsible for cradle-to-grave capability creation and delivery across Group 5 UAS systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading test engineering, maintenance, and operations for the Victorville test site
- Ensuring technical adequacy, safety, and effectiveness of ground, taxi, and flight test operations
- Driving efficient and effective operations while balancing speed, rigor, and safety
- Building teams and processes to optimize and scale operations
- Setting organizational standards for quality of work, professionalism, and safety
- Leading technical problem-solving, root-cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations, and troubleshooting across the full scope from hands-on work to system analysis
- Approving maintenance and test plans, directing aircraft configuration, and ensuring operational readiness
- Reporting to the Head of Test for safe, efficient, and technically adequate site operations
You will interface with and coordinate across all program stakeholders from technicians to executives. Sound technical judgment and intuition for aircraft modification, maintenance, and operations are essential to ensure airworthiness and technical adequacy.
Anduril's Air Dominance & Strike division designs, develops, tests, and fields next-generation autonomous air systems, strike weapons, and advanced propulsion. The Autonomous Airpower business line specializes in Group 5 UAS systems, operating at the intersection of rapid flight testing, high-rate manufacturing, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and edge-compute autonomy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8–15 years of experience in aircraft, weapons, or missile systems development and test
- Hands-on experience with test, maintenance, and/or test stands
- Test engineering experience with developmental systems of manned and/or unmanned aircraft, including requirements development, test planning and execution, and test reporting
- Ability to quickly understand new concepts, apply them accurately, and organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases
- Ability to work extended hours as required
- Ability to travel as required for test planning and execution
- Ability to immediately obtain a U.S. Top Secret-level security clearance
- Leadership experience building and scaling teams and processes
- Comfort with safety-critical systems and operations; demonstrated hardware build and operational experience
- Aircraft operations, maintenance, and/or pilot experience preferred; homebuilt aircraft or A&P certification a plus
