Precision for Medicine, a clinical research organization (CRO) specializing in oncology and rare diseases, is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead complex global clinical trials and study portfolios. This is a fully remote position available to candidates in the UK, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, or Slovakia.
As Project Director, you will serve as the primary liaison with pharmaceutical and biotech clients, overseeing all aspects of clinical research trials from planning through execution and closure. You will manage project teams, including project managers and senior project managers, providing strategic direction and mentorship. Key responsibilities include:
• Serve as primary point-of-contact with clients, participating in proposals, presentations, and bid defenses
• Oversee and manage all aspects of assigned clinical trials, ensuring consistency across portfolios
• Provide direction to project managers on trial establishment, planning, procurement, execution, and closing
• Manage study budgets, scope, and change orders; ensure functional areas understand and manage scope appropriately
• Monitor financial health of projects, including profitability, billable hours, and accurate forecasting
• Develop comprehensive project plans with timelines, risk management, and mitigation strategies
• Ensure quality management, eTMF inspection readiness, and implementation of corrective/preventative actions
• Establish tracking metrics and prepare status updates for clients and senior management
• Lead internal and client meetings, driving program-level strategies with cross-functional teams
• Communicate protocol issues, deviations, and necessary actions to sponsors and management
• Conduct formal presentations to colleagues, investigative staff, and clients
• Implement study-specific training and ensure compliance
• Support business development and marketing activities, including travel to bid defenses
• Mentor associate and senior project managers; provide performance feedback
• Participate in departmental updates and SOP development
• Travel domestically and internationally as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a science or health-related field (advanced degree preferred).
Experience: Minimum 8 years of clinical research experience with a minimum of 5 years of direct project management experience. Highly experienced in pharmaceutical and/or device research required. Experience managing complex, global studies or portfolios of studies essential.
Technical Skills: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, eTMF, EDC, and CTMS. Expert understanding of project management software.
Knowledge & Competencies: Mastery of ICH-GCP and relevant SOPs; excellent knowledge of project management techniques and tools; strong understanding of cross-functional management, project planning, risk management, and change management. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning with ability to implement independently.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; strong customer service demeanor. Ability to lead and inspire excellence; high level of integrity; results-oriented, accountable, motivated, and flexible. Demonstrated excellence in time management, negotiation, critical thinking, decision-making, and analytical skills.
