Voyager Technologies, a defense and national security company, seeks an experienced Program Manager V to lead complex aerospace and defense programs. Based in Reno, NV (hybrid/onsite), this role reports to the Director of Advanced Technology Programs within the Science & Technologies department.
You will manage all phases of program execution for defense and national security initiatives, with direct responsibility for program-level profit and loss. Key responsibilities include:
• Planning, directing, and monitoring projects to maintain scope, schedule, and budget alignment
• Developing and reviewing comprehensive program management documentation (status reports, PDRs/CDRs, planning docs, CDRLs)
• Ensuring availability of critical resources (engineering, manpower, production, facilities)
• Providing direction to project staff on budgeting and program execution
• Identifying and proactively escalating program risks and issues to leadership
• Serving as primary customer contact and liaison for program information
• Pursuing follow-on and new business opportunities with customers
• Participating in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving sessions
• Contributing to proposal development for follow-on work
• Traveling up to 25% to customer locations
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience); 20+ years of program management experience including 10-15 years managing DOD propulsion-related programs; expertise with Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and Earned Value Management; direct experience managing large subcontracts; ability to brief executives and customers on program status, risks, and plans; experience with U.S. Government customers.
Preferred: Master's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering; rocket propulsion defense system program management; Missile Defense Agency program experience with MAP/PMAP requirements; business development with funding customer offices.
Required skills: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Project); strong verbal and written communication; ability to multitask in collaborative environments; willingness to assume increasing responsibilities.
Other requirements: Must obtain and maintain U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required; travel up to 25% including possible overnight stays within continental US.
