General Matter is enriching uranium in America with a mission to design, build, and operate the world's lowest-cost enrichment services in the United States. The company aims to restore America's ability to produce nuclear fuel to power AI, advanced manufacturing, critical industries, and next-generation nuclear reactors. Backed by top-tier investors including Founders Fund (which incubated Anduril and Palantir), General Matter operates as a lean, world-class team of engineers and operators applying first-principles thinking to nuclear fuel production.
As Program Manager for Manufacturing, you will own how General Matter's manufacturing and production organizations build their operating rhythm, serving as a thought partner to the manufacturing leader on priorities, decisions, and day-to-day execution. You will play a critical role keeping a fast-moving engineering organization aligned, unblocked, and focused as the company works to build a domestic supply of enriched uranium.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own critical-path program visibility and translate noisy status updates into clear, leadership-ready communications
- Act as thought partner to an engineering leader, unblocking them to focus on highest-value work
- Build and maintain schedules, trackers, dashboards, and executive briefings
- Design, run, and improve core engineering processes including design reviews, review cadences, and reporting workflows
- Standardize team workflows (status collection, drafting and routing, decision logs) into a repeatable operating rhythm
- Track priorities, dependencies, and follow-ups to ensure nothing slips
- Partner across Engineering, Operations, Legal, Communications, and Security to keep initiatives aligned
- Surface risks and execution gaps and drive them to resolution
This role requires exceptional initiative, structured thinking, and communication skills. You will turn ambiguity into clear plans, design processes that enable an engineering organization to scale, and ramp quickly on technical and regulatory subject matter. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and operates independently with limited direction.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in private equity/venture capital, management consulting, operations, or a related field
- Exceptional structured thinking and ability to create order out of ambiguity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with program management and workstream management
- Ability to manage sensitive, high-visibility work with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
