Voyager Technologies is seeking a Program Manager III to lead all phases of aerospace and defense program execution. Reporting to the Director of Advanced Technology Programs within the Science & Technologies department, this role is based in Reno, NV (hybrid/onsite).
You will be responsible for comprehensive program management across defense and national security initiatives, including planning, directing, and monitoring projects to ensure scope, schedule, and budget alignment. Key responsibilities include managing project-level P&L, developing program documentation (status reports, PDR/CDR materials, planning docs, CDRLs), and presenting to technical teams, management, subcontractors, and government customers.
Essential functions:
- Plans, directs, and monitors projects; owns project-level profit and loss
- Defines, generates, and reviews program management materials
- Ensures availability of engineering, manpower, production, and facility resources
- Provides direction to project staff on budgeting and program execution
- Ensures all program deliverables are met satisfactorily
- Identifies and escalates program risks and issues proactively
- Serves as primary customer contact for project information
- Participates in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving sessions
- Ensures adherence to internal Program Management processes
- Contributes to proposals for follow-on work
- Travels up to 25% to customer locations
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of program management experience, including 7+ years managing DOD propulsion-related programs
- Direct experience with Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and Earned Value Management
- Experience managing large subcontracts
- Experience managing programs for U.S. Government customers
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Management of rocket propulsion defense system programs
- Management of Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements
- Experience briefing executive management on program status, risks, and plans
Required skills:
- Multi-tasking in collaborative team environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Quick problem-solving ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Preferred: Integrated Program Management Tools experience
- Preferred: Basic understanding of solid rocket motor design and operation
Other requirements:
- Travel up to 25% within continental US (including overnight stays)
- Must obtain and maintain U.S. Security Clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)
