xAI is seeking an experienced Program Manager for Harmful Activity to drive priorities, measures, and system health across content integrity and abuse prevention programs. This role owns program standards and execution, translating policy and legal constraints into practical workflows and controls that scale across upstream systems and downstream operations.
You will set requirements and success criteria for detection and automation systems, driving Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve coverage, precision, and enforcement quality. Key responsibilities include identifying framework gaps, owning escalations and quality assurance for complex cases, aligning cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, Operations) on dependencies and decisions, and building documentation and operating standards that embed consistent execution.
You will monitor regulatory developments, assess program impact, track operational performance and risks, and use operational signals to harden standards and automation over time. This is a hands-on role in a flat organizational structure where all employees contribute directly to the company's mission.
Required: 5+ years in content integrity, safety operations, abuse operations, or related program roles at scale. You must have experience owning program priorities and operational health, working knowledge of harmful activity domains, proven ability to translate policy/legal requirements into workflows and controls, and experience with automated or model-driven enforcement systems. Strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration experience, and clear communication are essential.
Preferred: Direct experience with harmful activity or integrity programs at scale, setting requirements for detection and classifiers, owning escalations and QA for enforcement programs, converting operational signals into product/process/policy changes, exposure to synthetic content or model misuse risks, and background in high-scale consumer platforms or technology products.
