OpenAI's DeployCo Deal Desk is seeking an experienced Professional Services Commercial Lead to own end-to-end deal desk workflows for professional-services engagements. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role focused on translating complex technical and delivery requirements into executable commercial agreements.
You will personally draft and revise statements of work (SOWs), validate pricing and deal inputs against approved guardrails, coordinate cross-functional reviews and approvals across Deployment, Sales, Legal, Finance, Technical Revenue, and Operations, and ensure all commitments are clear, deliverable, and ready to execute. The role requires strong contract drafting expertise—you will have written SOWs, not simply routed them—combined with commercial judgment and disciplined execution.
Key responsibilities include: owning assigned deals from intake through approval, signature, and operational handoff; drafting and revising SOWs, work orders, and change orders using approved templates; validating rate cards, fees, hours, resourcing, discounts, and margin inputs; coordinating reviews and approvals while surfacing gaps early; identifying and resolving delivery and commercial risks such as unclear scope, infeasible commitments, or scope creep; maintaining accurate deal records and approval evidence; and turning recurring issues into stronger templates and workflow improvements.
You should have 7+ years of B2B experience in deal desk, commercial contracts, contract management, professional-services operations, sales operations, or order management, with at least 3+ years of substantial hands-on SOW drafting and revision. You understand quote-to-cash workflows and how SOW structure affects delivery, billing, revenue recognition, and customer experience. Preferred experience includes contract management in professional services, cloud/enterprise SaaS/AI environments, fixed-fee and milestone-based engagements, and familiarity with Salesforce, CPQ, contract-lifecycle-management tools, and approval workflow systems.
