Relativity Space is building advanced rockets, including the Terran R vehicle, to deliver payloads to orbit. The company combines 3D printing technology with aerospace engineering to accelerate rocket development and manufacturing.
The Production Planner will join the Factory Test team in Long Beach, which is responsible for hardware testing and test asset design, build, and operation. This role is critical to supporting the company's manufacturing and testing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead integrated scheduling and resource planning for production operations
- Develop, maintain, and manage production schedules with baseline change control
- Collect, track, and analyze performance data; conduct critical path and variance analyses
- Provide visibility and regular status reviews on schedule performance
- Resource load, analyze, and optimize production schedules to meet required dates
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams on resource status, critical procurements, and schedule impact
- Perform "what if" scenario analysis and help develop recovery plans
- Develop schedules involving internal resources, partner teams, and external vendors
- Work with department leadership and other production planners to align priorities and respond to changes
- Conduct production demand planning and provide actionable insights
- Generate meaningful metrics and data to inform strategic decisions on resource allocation
Required qualifications:
- Experience with large project controls, project planning, and integrated master schedules (IMS) in discrete manufacturing
- Proficiency with resource-loaded scheduling tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, or equivalent)
- Experience managing multiple swim lanes, work centers, or product lines with changing priorities
- Strong communication skills in technical environments; ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
