Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is developing a rocket, factory, and business from the ground up, with a culture emphasizing autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level.
The Avionics team is responsible for all electrical design aspects on the rocket, including flight computers, power systems, RF systems, PCB design, autonomous flight safety systems, and telemetry. These are complex, modular, flexible electrical systems critical to Terran R's successful launch.
As Production Manager for Avionics, you will develop and guide the production team while defining key projects, goals, and initiatives. Your expertise in lean manufacturing will be essential in identifying production gaps and inefficiencies, advocating for tools, systems, and processes that enhance performance. You will drive continuous improvement across the production floor, ensure high standards of quality and efficiency, optimize manufacturing workflows, reduce waste, mentor the growing engineering team, and achieve operational excellence.
You bring a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field), 6+ years of leadership or management experience, and strong understanding of avionics manufacturing including PCBA, harness fabrication, and electronics box assemblies. You have background in lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and quality management systems. Prior experience scaling low-volume or pilot production lines to high volume is essential. Strong cross-functional communication with design, production, and executive teams is required.
